This is a lovely hidden little beach located in a small valley just down from the famous stretch of roads known as bilgola bends.
There is a strong rip at the southern end, known affectionately as the Newport Express and honestly represents the name Bilgola, derived from the Aboriginal native language translating to "swirling waters". The area was originally known as Belgoula.
It was a very popular, however dangerous fishing spot for our natives.
