Sydney Opera House
This truly magnificent structure is an architectural masterpiece of the 20th Century. Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, it is a multi-venue performing arts centre which opened on 20 October 1973.
The design mimics the shape of a boat's sails in the wind and is considered one of the worlds most famous and distinctive buildings. It is a stunning sight against blue skies, the shimmering water of Sydney harbour and the gorgeous Royal Botanic Gardens beyond.
