Affectionately named "Palmy" by the locals, this beach in Sydney, Australia, is very long and stretches most of the length of Barrenjoey Headland. A line of Iconic Norfolk Pine trees leads us to the southern end of the beach.
The "Joey" is a very popular surf break at the south end and lays below the grand iconic Palm Beach Lighthouse and light keepers cottages above. A pathway leads up to the stunning panoramic views over Ku-rin-gai Chase National Park. I love to take my kids up there to spot the whales during Whale season.
We recently trekked around the rocks of the point to view the seal colony, where you can actually get up close to these magnificent animals. We were lucky to see dolphins frolicking in front of the setting sun on the trip home. A magical moment.
